Sony LinkBuds have a unique and innovative open ring, donut-shaped design that allows you to hear the outside world in addition to your music. Included in the box, are a handful of detachable silicone ear fins of different sizes. After some experimentation, I found the fins that fit my ears best. The lightweight buds feel soft but are still quite durable. Even after several straight hours of wearing, the compact and discreet buds felt very comfortable in my ears. Despite the buds small size, they deliver strong audio quality with a well-balanced, crisp and clear sound. However, the bass could be a bit deeper. The battery life of 5.5 hours on a single charge is good but not great. The voice call quality is suberb with excellent clarity. I love the ear-detection sensors that automatically pause my music when I remove a bud from my ear, and then resumes the music when I put the bud back in my ear. I also appreciate the buds' Wide Area Tap feature which allows me to tap my cheek to control playback. Although, these water-resistant buds don't offer noise cancellation and do allow environmental noise in, I don't mind so much. As someone who for personal safety reasons wants to be extra alert with an increased awareness of my surroundings, these earbuds achieve what they're designed to do and perfectly fit my needs.

Great idea, still needs refining

Bought these when they first launched, they are comfortable to wear and the sound quality is excellent. However, the software needs refining as they have a tendency to stop playing if you for example sneeze, I also found whilst they would be ideal when out riding my bike given the design lets you hear ambient noises around you, they would stop playing due to wind noise. I still feel there is very good potential with these as they just need a few minor issues addressed.

NOTE - This is a review for the product "LinkBuds Truly Wireless Earbuds - Teams Certified Version - Model: LinkBuds UC". The model does not exist at the time I registered the product on the Sony US site, so I had to register it as a random WF-L900 headset. This product did not have a single review at the time of purchase, so I decided to take a "leap of faith". Disadvantages: - They do not feature noise cancellation. But I didn't choose them for that but wanted them to have the best ambient noise possible since I would be using them to commute to work. - They do not have volume up/down buttons or gestures. THIS IS IMPORTANT! - Microsoft Teams functions can only be activated on the left earbud. You can't change what this headset does, so if you want to customize any gestures, you can only do it on the right earbud, and options are limited. - If you activate the voice assistant, it doesn't read notifications to you automatically, you will have to ask it from time to time. - Battery time is low, compared to similar cost options. Advantages - By design, they have the best ambient noise you can ask for, it is simply the best choice if you want to be aware of your surroundings while commuting to work. - The integration with Microsoft Teams is natural and very useful when you use the USB dongle. Too bad you don't have the same experience when using it on your cell phone with the same application. No mute/raise hand features when using Teams on your smartphone.

...ABER: Ich benutze die LinkBuds in die Arbeit. Akku hält circa vier Stunden. Mir wurde reichen die Kopfhörer einzeln zu benutzen. LEIDER in dieser Konstellation funktioniert nur der rechte Stöpsel. Der linke funktioniert (einzeln) nicht. Ich hoffe, lässt sich durch Update verbessern. Dann kaufe ich gleich zehn Stück. PS. Warum werden die MBH22 nicht mehr angeboten?

J'ai acheté ces écouteurs il y 3 semaines. Au bout de 5 jours, l'un des écouteurs ne fonctionnait plus, mais... Je les ai échangés, et depuis, plus de soucis. Sinon, le son est bien, c'est un peu perturbant d'entendre l'extérieur en même temps. L'appli est un peu compliquée, mais on s'y fait.

Die beigelegten Zettel sind unlesbar und der QR- Code der aufgedruckt ist, wird nicht erkannt. Habe über den Umweg der Sonyseite im Internet dann herausgefunden wie die Buds zu bedienen sind. Der Trick mit klopfen auf die Backe funktioniert übrigens nicht.

Die LinkBuds sind nicht meine ersten true-wireless-in-ears aber auf Anhieb meine liebsten. Die Anatomie ist (für mich) ganz hervorragend. Passt wie angegossen, wackelt so gut wie nie und ist superleicht. Die Teile sind viel kleiner, als die Bilder vermuten lassen. Den Sound empfinde ich als sehr ausgewogen und für den Zweck genau richtig. Die Akkulaufzeit ist nicht weltbewegend aber für meine Belange mehr als ausreichend. Das smartphone muss man schließlich auch täglich laden. Ich finde das Gesamtpaket wirklich überaus gelungen!

Es gibt bei verschiedenen Bewegungen mit dem Oberkörper Aussetzter beim Empfang. Sehr nervig. Die scheint auch schon eine ganze Weile so zu bestehen... Der Sitz ist gut, es dauert bis man sich an das Handling beim Einsetzen gewöhnt hat.

Bought these a week ago for a very reasonable price. The instructions provided are very clear, and I soon was able to fit the Buds without any trouble. The sound, though not His more than acceptable, but don't expect booming bass. The bonus for me is that they do not go into the inner ear, but remain in the outer part, so are very comfortable and easy to wear. They have never fallen as I move around. Blue tooth connection is very easy. All in all an excellent product.

Wer ist nun schuld, dass die Buds nicht passen? Die Designer von Sony oder die Natur, die meine Ohren geformt hat? An meinen Ohrmuscheln gibt es keine Vertiefung, die Halt bieten könnten. Der Verkäufer bei Digitec hat übrigens dasselbe Problem damit - und nicht nur er, wie ich später feststellte. Gut, konnte ich sie mit kleinem Verlust retournieren. Akustisch und in der Handhabung konnte ich sie leider nicht testen. Bei dieser Preislage werde ich generell Produkte, die auf den Körper passen müssen nicht mehr kaufen, ohne vorher ein (desinfiziertes) Muster testen zu können. Ich kann somit unten nicht alles bewerten.

If you feel the size of the fitting supporters does not fit your ears, change the fitting supporters to another size that fits your ears better. The size of the left and right fitting supporters may be different. Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears. If you wear the headset for a long time, your ears may start hurting. Use the headset while taking breaks periodically.
If the headset is out of your ears, you feel uncomfortable when wearing the headset or your ears hurt.
With precise voice pickup technology with advanced audio signal processing, the person on the other end of the call will hear your voice clearly, even when you are in noisy situations. Our noise reduction algorithm was developed using AI machine learning using more than 500 million voice samples to suppress ambient noise and extract your voice clearly in a wide range of environments.

J'ai déjà le SENNHEISER Momentum TW2, le SONY WF-1000XM3, j'ai opté pour ce modèle en remplacement car il correspondait tout à fait à mes besoin pour un prix nettement inférieur (/2) au dernier XM4 en attendant le 5. Seul point de gêne pour moi (mais c'était annoncé) et on ne peut pas tout avoir c'est l'autonomie qui est réduite. Le son est excellent chez SONY. J'adore.

Ich habe die LinkBugs knapp ein 1/2 Jahr trotz leichter Skepsis sitzen die sehr gut im Ohr. Der Sound ist schon gut aber ein bissen luft nach oen ist noch. Das einzige was mich stört ist die Bluetooth Verbindung die finde ich ein wenig schwach wenn ich das Handy in der Hosentasche habe. Wenn ich das in der Brusttasche (Jacke) habe ist die Verbindung Top.

I am extremely unsatisfied with the product. The functions do not work properly, and the sound quality is horrible. It has great features, if they worked the same every time. If I cough or clear my throat, the earbuds pause. Too much dissatisfaction for one product.

The Speak-to-Chat feature may be enabled and causes the earbuds to pause when you cough or clearing your throat. The earbuds assume you are speaking to someone. If Speak-to-Chat is enabled in advance, the Speak-to-Chat mode starts automatically when you talk to someone. The headset pauses or mutes the music which is being played. You can turn on or off this feature in the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app.

Nach 3 Monaten kann ich sagen, dass die LinkBudsS solide Kopfhörer sind. Persönlich finde ich die matte Struktur nicht wirklich angenehm, aber die Soundqualität und der Bass sind sehr gut. Was mir fehlt ist die Nachverfolgung der Kopfhörer, falls man eins verlieren sollte.

I bought the Linkbuds knowing that they will have audio limitations, however they are very good at what they were designed for. The negative is the terrible connectivity. They suffer from a high signal dropout rate, no better than a pair of generic Bluetooth in-ears from Banggood for £100 less.

Comfortable fit but poor performance

Bought the open ring design specifically for conference call use and not wanting noise blocking or noise cancelling eaebuds. Very comfortable for all day wear but poor microphones, terrible Bluetooth range and relatively short battery life means I went them back. Audio quality is good especially for voice calls as I wanted, and OK for music (bit base light obviously due to open design) but poor microphones mean poor audio for others on calls. Bluetooth range is dire - can't leave the room that has the phone in without drop out or losing call completely.

Ss a matter of fact, I bought Linkbuds S, not Linkbuds. However, Linkbuds S was not available in the product subscription menu at the moment when I wanted to subscribe. So far, I am happy with my product. I bought this product not only for casual use, but also during sleep as it is the tiniest hifi in the market. I have only to concerns: 1) The touch control functions even when in contact with other things than only finger, e.g. my pillow while sleeping. Fingerprint of the user could be an option to be used to active this function. 2) I received some buzzy sound while listening to a high volume electric guitar demonstration video. Otherwise, I am happy with my earbuds.

These are great little ear buds except the Bluetooth connectivity is terrible. I have my Sony Xperia 1 ii phone in my breast pocket and the music drops out if I turn my head to the right or look up. I have to look left or done to stabilise the connection again. I don't have the same issue with my iPhone.

These are the ear buds I’ve been waiting for

Most of the time I prefer to be able to hear what’s going on around me, so I want buds that don’t close the ear canal. The type of buds that hang in the bottom of the ear, are not an option because they simply fall out of mine. All the other ear buds I have seen are held within the ear but rely on silicone tips to close off the ear canal so that the lower frequencies aren’t lost. These don’t work for me either because the openings to my ear canals are not circular - they don’t fit so they are uncomfortable, and they sound thin because the low frequencies are lost. So, LinkBuds, that fit in the ear but are not designed to fit into or close off the ear canal, meet my requirements very well. In use they work well and I would make the following comments: 1) The sound is very good although I would prefer slightly stronger lower frequencies. 2) They are light. 3) I’ve not run the batteries down, but the expected battery life is a little low 4) I’ve experienced some slight discomfort, but this is due to my ear shape. 5) I like the wide area tap. 6) Calls are clear for me and my caller. 7) I found setting up my Sony account to be rather slow. 8) I don’t much like the on-line “manual”. 9) I’ve not done anything with the app on my phone yet.

Horrible sound & out of date return

The sound is low. You have to be in a quiet room for it to hear it. I am a cutter I work in refrigerator room where you hear fans all day. I have to turn the volume all the way up to barely hear it. Sony return policy is outdated. Every time I had a return something the company email me a label for free or they will take the return fee out of my refund. Do not buy these unless you work in a quiet area or if you like taking extra steps to return product.

Ich hatte die LinkBuds bei Veröffentlichung schon mal erworben, sie aber wieder zurückgesendet, da mir der Sitz der LinkBuds irgendwie gestört hatte. In der Zwischenzeit hatte ich andere InEars getestet, welche aber bei durch andere Kriterien durchgefallen waren und auch wieder Retour gingen. Jetzt habe ich den LinkBuds eine 2. Chance gegeben. Den Sitz habe ich jetzt endlich optimal für mich einrichten können (weiß nicht, warum es beim 1. Mal nicht geklappt hatte). Der Sound ist für das offene Design gut. Auch die Lautstärke ist sehr akzeptabel. Natürlich muss man Abstriche dabei machen, aber das ist ja so gewollt. Mir gefällt es sehr gut, dass ich meine Musik hören kann, und die Ohren offen bleiben und ich etwas von der Umgebung mitbekomme. Bei InEars hatte es mich tatsächlich in letzter Zeit genervt, dass der Gehörgang wie mit einem Korken dicht gemacht wurde. Und wenn ich mal wirklich die Aussenwelt aussperren möchte, dann mach ich das mit meinen OverEars mit ANC. Was die Funktion mit dem erweiterten Touch-Bereich angeht: den habe ich erstmal ausgeschaltet gelassen, da es immer reagiert hatte, wenn man eine Maske aufsetzen oder absetzen musst. Auch Speak-to-Chat habe ich wieder deaktiviert, da es reagiert hatte, wenn es mal ein wenig windiger war oder man eine Mütze auf hatte. Das Telefonieren hat mir sehr gut gefallen, da man auch hier durch das offene Design seine eigene Stimme besser wahrnimmt und man nicht Gefahr läuft, LAUTER ZU REDEN, weil man sich selber nicht richtig hört.

J'ai du mal à supporter les intra-auriculaire (sensation d'étouffement, écho quant on parle et oreille qui démange) alors quand j'ai vu ses écouteurs j'ai trouvé ça génial. Au début ils m'ont fait mal aux oreilles, j'ai changé les adaptateurs (j'ai mis les plus petits) et c'était parfait. J'ai aimé leurs look, leurs légèreté, ils tiennent très bien dans l'oreille. Ce que je n'ai pas aimé c'est le bluetooth qui saute quand le téléphone est dans une poche avant, quant on fait de la marche. Mais surtout ils ont le défaut de leur qualité, c'est à dire le fait qu'ils sont semi ouvert je trouve ça génial parce qu'on a pas l'impression d'etre coupé du monde mais dans un milieu très bruyant on entend plus la musique. L'appli n'est pas très ludique et pas simple à configurer.

I got these because I wanted something I could wear that allowed ambient sound in for when I'm walking alone or at the gym. I'm still working out how best to have that set, but the sound quality is way better than I expected. I love the ability to be able to tap the side of my jaw or close to my ear and have it take my commands. The application to manage them is also very helpful for tips & tricks and getting everything just the way you like it :)

I was saving up for these earbuds thinking they would be great for work but when I got them they just don't fit nicely! I've tried all of the adjustable bands but they hurt to wear. they also are a bit touchy to fit aswell, they sometimes fall out if I don't out them in tight enough or they hurt and I can wear them for any longer than 20 minutes. I've followed the videos and I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong or if my ears are just too small for the product.

Align the protruding part of the headset with the hole part of the fitting supporter and firmly insert the fitting supporter all the way. Do not attach the fitting supporter in a loose or skewed manner. After attaching the fitting supporter, check that there is no floating between the fitting supporter and the headset. The worst earphones I have bought.

They are uncomfortable in my ears and extremely painful to put in or touch when in. This might just be my ears, but ouch. They are really fiddly to fit with the bigger loops on, but fall out anyway when I eat. Don't think you can wiggle them about to make them feel more secure or for a better fit while they are playing either, you will activate some control so they can skip a track or cut off completely. Aaargh! I got them so I can be more connected, and for this they work, but high volume is not high enough and those without great hearing will struggle to have a conversation when they are in. The sound quality is not better than much cheaper ones. I think I should have gone for noise cancelling and external sound enhancement, but because they are earphones it looks like there is a no return policy so I am hoping I just lose one and have to bin them. I'm not rich enough to just stick them in a draw.

Great idea, still needs refining

Bought these when they first launched, they are comfortable to wear and the sound quality is excellent. However, the software needs refining as they have a tendency to stop playing if you for example sneeze, I also found whilst they would be ideal when out riding my bike given the design lets you hear ambient noises around you, they would stop playing due to wind noise. I still feel there is very good potential with these as they just need a few minor issues addressed.

Parfait pour bosser et entendre son envirronement

Je bosse dans le médicale et j'ai besoin d'entendre le bruit des machines/sonettes et des patients mais quand tout ce passe bien, j'aime aussi écouter de la musique. Les LinkBuds allient parfaitement le boulot et la musique, j'entends les bruits sans m'empêché d'écouter ma musique. Ce genre d'écouteur reste un marché de niche je pense mais pour moi c'est banco donc merci Sony. Et pour ceux qui disent qu'il n'y a pas de basse, ce n'est pas l'utilité du produit même si ça aurait été bien.
